Digital Breast Tomosynthesis

Come spend the day learning how to use the new digital mammography application, which is predicted to result in a higher detection rate for breast cancer and a decrease in callback rates. The day is jam-packed with fascinating new data on digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). We’ll look into clinical applications, DBT technologies, mammography tech quality control testing, and more. Although 2D mammography is better than analog, there is still the problem of overlaid tissue that might conceal structures. The imaging of the breast in thin cross sectional slices in this special modality reveals breast tissue without underlying structures. You don’t want to miss this educational day so you can learn about this intriguing new modality as soon as it is introduced. Before performing this clinical examination, staff must complete 8 hours of initial training for the MQSA technique known as digital breast tomosynthesis. As required by MQSA, this program offers technicians 8 hours of first training in digital breast tomosynthesis. Physicians are welcome to attend and earn 8 Category 1 credits, however they must meet strict interpretation requirements under the MQSA for this modality.
For registration and Category 1 credit for this course, physicians must contact AHEC at 800-239-1361.
