Tonya is the Lead Mammography Technologist for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and a Mammography Instructor for AHEC. She graduated from Midwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Science. She is a mother of two wonderful daughters and a gorgeous German Shephard. Her radiology career started in 2001 when she graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, Texas. Originally from Louisiana, she moved to Houston after graduation and began her career. She enjoyed working in radiology, where she experienced working in CT, MRI, Cath lab, mammography, and DEXA. Working in mammography has been possibly the most rewarding modality for Tonya. Although very tedious in regulations, she genuinely enjoys working in mammography. Teaching mammography for AHEC has also been very rewarding for Tonya as she enjoys talking to future mammography techs and giving them all the tools, she can to become successful. Tonya feels her job as a mammography tech and an instructor has allowed her to meet some incredible women, and she feels blessed to call it my career.
